She argued with her brother and her mother,
She laughed and cried like anyone else,
But deep inside she was a mess.
Behind every laugh was a shadow of a tear,
Behind every act of bravado was a shadow of fear,
Behind every yes, there was a secret no,
After every high she faced the lowest low.
And thus began the long days of drinking,
Everyone clicked their tongues and said "What was she thinking",
She showed everyone the finger and powered on through,
What she was going to do, no one knew!
One day when the pain was too much to bear,
She thought no one would understand, no one would care,
She reached for the knife,
And with that she ended her life.
It was too late for her to see,
Her death caused people so much sadness it brought them to their knees,
It was too late for the to see,
That people around her were not ready to let her leave.
